CHRE Survey on Regulators' Cost Effectiveness

The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE) would like help from BOA members with one of their current projects. They are looking into the cost effectiveness and efficiency of the UK health professional regulators.

As part of this work they are working with the Centre for Health Service Economics and Organisation (CHSEO) to conduct a survey of regulated health professionals about how much time (and money) registrants spend registering and renewing their registration with their regulator (i.e. registrants’ compliance/administration costs).

Please take part in their survey which is anonymous and will take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete.

Spinal manipulation and exercise more effective for neck pain

Spinal manipulation and home exercises are more effective than medication in relieving neck pain, a US trial reported on 3 January 2012.

A 12-week course of spinal manipulation had a statistically significant advantage over medication in reducing self-reported pain after eight, 12, 26 and 52 weeks, according to the study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
