About Deirdre Deirdre graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1983 and spent the next 10 years working in London in busy practices with other osteopaths and health care practitioners. She also volunteered at the Osteopathic Centre for Children gaining valuable experience in the treatment of infants and children. When Deirdre moved to Chester in 1993 her expertise in the areas of cranial and paediatric osteopathy enabled her to co-found the Osteopathic Health Centre to provide osteopathic treatment for individuals of all ages. Now there are 5 osteopaths within the practice offering a range of different styles and osteopathic interests. As well as managing the OHC Deirdre continues to enjoy helping people understand the various reasons why they are suffering and encouraging them to find ways to manage their health. Visiting Deirdre A full medical case history is taken at your first appointment including information about the problem you have come with as well as general health and past medical conditions. For the examination, patients undress to their underwear and Deirdre uses her hands gently to feel joint mobility and muscle tone. Using a highly developed sense of touch any areas of difficulty can be identified and treatment ranging from soft tissue massage, joint articulation or stretching and indirect 'cranial' techniques are used to help the body to release and heal itself. Deirdre is a recognised provider for the major health insurance companies including BUPA, AXA PPP and HSA The Osteopathic Health Centre, Chester has full time reception cover and is open all 5 week days; Deirdre is available to treat patients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
