About Claire

Claire graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2002 and completed the two year, specialist postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy in 2005 at the Osteopathic Centre for Children Manchester, becoming a Clinical Tutor there from 2007-09. In addition to the antenatal and post partum care of women and the treatment of a wide range of congenital, developmental and childhood conditions, Claire also has experience of treating premature babies in the intensive care and neonatal unit at Barnet Hospital, London. She feels passionately that Osteopathy can be used to ease many pregnancy related conditions and childhood symptoms and difficulties. Although Claire has a special interest in treating children she enjoys treating everyone of all ages from little to big kids!

Visiting Claire

On your first visit a full medical case history will be taken. Patients are asked to undress to underwear / nappies and the osteopath gently moves their body to check for muscle tone and joint movement. Using a highly developed sense of touch any points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body will be identified. The osteopath uses her hands to investigate underlying causes of pain and to carry out treatment using a variety of techniques. These may include soft tissue stretching, rhythmic joint movements, gentle joint releasing and indirect ‘cranial’ techniques.

You do not need to be referred by your doctor to have treatment but if necessary Claire may need to contact them with your written permission.  Claire is a recognised provider for a number of health insurance companies including BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva and HSA.
