The British Osteopathic Journal (BOJ) has recently revised its mission in the context of the increasing profile of research-related activities emerging from within the profession. The GOsC has funded the foundation of NCOR resulting in the publication of useful research tutorials in The Osteopath. The GOsC has also enabled registrants to receive a regular free copy of the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. There has been a corresponding development of postgraduate award bearing courses e.g. the MSc programme at the ESO and the new MSc in Paediatric Osteopathy at the BSO.

The BOJ has an honourable history of encouraging the publication of a wide range of papers on varied topics thereby extending the parameters of osteopathy and relating to medicine on its own terms. Some of the papers have been based on undergraduate dissertations including single case studies as well as traditional clinical investigations. Other areas are considered including education, CPD, polemic and the effect, significance and future of regulation and external pressures on the profession. The journal is distributed free to BOA members.

If you have something you wish to publish, or plan to publish in the future, then please make contact with the Editor via the BOA office to discuss ‘work in progress’ and how to get ready for print by submitting it to our Advisory Peer Group Panel.  Email
boj@osteopathy.org.

For non-members of the British Osteopathic Association, the subscription is £22.00 (
UK) including postage and packing.
