Patient Experience Part 1 - Getting the phone to ring This session will focus on the patient journey before they get to the treatment room, and will consider: • branding and marketing strategies (getting the phone to ring) • information for potential patients (leaflets, websites etc) • answering the telephone/securing bookings • appointment reminders • the physical environment - the exterior of the clinic, reception, waiting room etc • in-practice patient literature (consent forms etc) • patient record management |

Patient Experience Part 2 - In the treatment room This session will focus on the non-clinical aspects of managing the time in a treatment room, including: • what does the patient expect or need? • the physical environment • case history and practice building • creating connections with patients • generating a referral culture among patients • optimising patient visits - the importance of patient buy-in to full treatment • establishing value within the treatment room • listening for other opportunities |

Patient Experience Part 3 - Beyond the treatment The final session will consider the tips for managing patients after the treatment, such as: • securing the next appointment • taking payment made easy • the role of an ongoing relationship with patients • the filing cabinet – a clinic’s most valuable resource • patient communication – individuals and groups • managing records • promoting the referral culture |

Quality-assured CPD
1. Criteria applied to osteopathic tutors
• Qualified for more than 5 years with varied clinical experience
• Experience of teaching in college clinic and or tutoring at college
• Post grad teaching qualification an asset but not essential
• Experience of other osteopathic colleges an asset but not essential
• Some experience of teaching at post grad level
2. Criteria applied to non-osteopathic tutors
• Experience of tutoring in their own subject
• Familiar with osteopaths and osteopathy
• Running or having run a successful business in their own subject
• Proven competence in their area of expertise
3. Ongoing re-evaluation of standards from feedback through course evaluation forms
Terms and Conditions
Payment
· If you place a booking within 15 days of the start date of the course you will be required to pay in full at the time of booking.
· Any outstanding balance must be paid 15 days before the course date. If payment is not received by the due date, the booking will be cancelled automatically and the course place will be made available to other students.
· The BOA reserves the right to ask for full payment or the balance of payment due, whichever is applicable, for courses which become fully booked and for which we have a waiting list.
Cancellations
If you cancel your course and we are unable to re-sell your place, the following charges will apply:
• More than four weeks prior to the course start date – £15.00 flat rate administration fee or 20% deposit, whichever is the greater
• Two to four weeks prior to the course – 25% of the course fee
• One to two weeks prior to the course – 50% of the course fee
• Less than one week prior to the course – 100% of the course fee
Late arrivals/missed sessions: If you arrive late for a course or are absent from any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In all such case, the full course fee remains payable. We will also be unable to issue a CPD certificate of attendance.
Unforeseen circumstances: On occasion, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course date or a full refund of fees paid.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied at all workshops. Lunch is not included; delegates can bring their own or buy locally (all venues are near such facilities).
